Italy on Paper Series

"Underfoot were marvelous stones that demanded attention." (From the artists journal of Italy)

The artist follows her impluse using what she sees in the stones as a jumping off point. From there she manipulates the media to make the statement her own.

The surface quality is an important consideration in her work. Art is the growth toward the edge of uncertainty, the willingness to leave a work at "this stage", often unresolved, knowing that there could be more; a change, a further investigation. She strives to have no absolutes, no complete resolution, hoping through these images the viewer will catch a glimpse of a new or different way of seeing our environment and conditions.
