Transitional Works
When we think of Woodworth's work we see that the "mark" is important -
But that is only scratching the surface. These works more dramatically express the stroke and its process - the movement - fast or slow, still, contemplative, excited.
It is this stroke and each of the stroke's connectiveness that are defined by the artist and that define the artist.
The pieces in this series represent a transitional phase which led most recently to the Seriously Man Series where the marks and the grounds have combined creating a integrated composition.
