SouthWest Series
Woodworth's fascination with walls of rock is the basis for this series. She goes beyond the structure to the history of the rock itself. The same accumulation of layers of different materials, of forming and reforming, of destroying and building, happens in nature before it happens through man's manipulations. Through artistic manipulation, Woodworth barely scratches the surface of the rock face, stripping the image of everything but the bare essentials and using only those bare essentials of materials to impart the image.
